DALYAN SEAFOOD

Dalyan Balikcilik &Seafood Limited is owned by Dalyan family tracing roots back to the end of the 19th century. At the time, their grandfather opened a small pool in the middle of the field to teach his sons fishing techniques. One of the son Mehmet Cemil Dalyan, began assisting his father in the family business at age twelwe, and by 20, he was renting lakes for fish farming and owned his own fishing boats. He left fishing five years later to start a new venture, a wholesale fish export business called Dalyan International Trading Co. Mehmet Cemil Dalyan started this company with his brothers and now carrying it on with his sons.

Mehmet Cemil Dalyan and his brothers continued working together at Dalyan Trading for many years. Company has done great success in very short time. Three big lakes were rented from the government for 15 years and four fishing boats were operating in Mediterranean Sea and after a while fishing and fish farming company turned into an international seafood exporting company. Besides, company added fruit and vegetable import-export division to their business, later on followed by industrial trading. We have opened many branches in many different countries such as Beirut, Brussels, Bucharest, Morocco branches etc. At their first location they sold sea bream, sea bass, red mullet and rockfish later on so many different seafood products added to the export selection.

As each son of Mehmet Cemil Dalyan reached adulthood and stepped forward to join the business, a new opportunity presented itself to expand the Company. As a young man, alongside his father, Alper Dalyan learned to love, work, and respect the sea. The company was born out of this passion. Alper’s honesty and ingenuity along with a committed team of managers and staff has made Dalyan Seafood most respected seafood company in Turkey. This led to the construction and opening of a branch in England. The set-up of the facilities focused primarily on servicing wholesale customers (restaurants, hotels, retail stores, etc.) while maintaining a retail presence of its own shops. In 2007, the Company opened its first retail shop in Billingsgate fish market in London.

Alper Dalyan and his brothers have carried on the tradition of their father and grandfather’s principles which has assured their continued success: hard work, business savvy, and a strong philosophy with which to guide the company: “Provide the highest quality product at a fair and reasonable price.” This simple principle continues to be at the heart of Dalyan Seafood’s mission. So, it’s no surprise that as a true family business, Dalyan Seafood takes a long-term view, both in terms of the investment in makes in its business relationships as well as it’s commitment to ensuring the continued viability of the natural resources which come from the world’s oceans and seas. In addition, food safety and technological innovation are key priorities, allowing Dalyan Seafood to continually improve its business practices. Clearly, much has changed since Alper Dalyan has taken the leadership of the company. However, one thing clearly remains with the current generation running the business today: its commitment to our customers, suppliers and family of workers. This loyalty differentiates Dalyan Seafood from other seafood distributors and is the benchmark for our company's continued success.

WHAT DALYAN SEAFOOD LTD DOES?

Dalyan Seafood Ltd. has got its own fish farms where most fresh and healthy fishes produced. Also our six fish boats are operating in Mediterranean Sea. Completed in 2002, our new facility is state of the art. The most sophisticated technologies were incorporated into the design of the plant. Our company is HACCP compliant (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Plan). This is a set of federal regulations to ensure the quality of some foods. This supports our dedication to product integrity.

Also our network of suppliers stretches worldwide, sourcing products from all the great oceans of the world. They work closely with our sales staff to determine product availability and demand. This relationship provides expert service assisting restaurateurs and chefs with their planning and buying.

Our Turkey based company predominantly do wholesale seafood import-export as well as retail sale. Recently company made a big jump to do online seafood sale and now focusing in online sales in UK.

Depending on the season, The Dalyan Seafood proudly stocks the largest variety of seafood found anywhere in Cyprus and Turkey.
